Description

High Purity Dysprosium Oxide Dy₂O₃, Dy₂O₃/REO≥ 99.5%, 99.9%, 99.95%, a white powder with melting point 2340°C and density 7.81g/cm³, is insoluble in water but soluble in acid and ethyl alcohol and slightly hygroscopic. Dysprosium Oxide Dy₂O₃ can absorb water and carbon dioxide in the air to become dysprosium carbonate and has strong magnetism. Dy₂O₃ should be kept in ventilated and dry warehouse with sealed package to avoid moisture and air leakage. Dysprosium Oxide Dy₂O₃is used for making dysprosium metal, glass, permanent neodymium ferroboron magnet additives, metal halide lamp and magneto-optic memory materials. And also found the application in atomic energy industry as the control rods of nuclear reactor, the essential element of Terfenol-D alloy.
