Ytterbium Oxide

Description

Ytterbium Oxide Yb₂O₃ 99.995% 4N5, a white amorphous powder with melting point 2372°C and density 9.17g/cm³, is insoluble in water and cool acid, but soluble in hot acid, easy to absorb water and carbon dioxide in the air. Ytterbium Oxide is paramagnetic and has a series of sharp absorption bands in the infrared spectrum which can be used in the quantitative analysis of ytterbium. Ytterbium Oxide Yb₂O₃ should be stored in cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse with the container tightly closed, and away from moisture and air. Ytterbium Oxide Yb₂O₃ is mainly used in phosphors, optical glass additives, electronics industry, manufacture the magnetic bubble material of computer, in order to get high speed, large capacity, small volume and multi-function, making special alloys, dielectric ceramics and special glasses. Ytterbium Oxide also finds application in coating materials for heat shield, electronic materials, active device materials, battery additive materials and bio-pharmaceutical field etc.
