High Purity Sulfur

Description

High Purity Sulfur 5N 6N or High Purity Sulphur is a light yellow brittle nonmetallic crystalline solid with melting point 112.8°C and density 2.36g/cm³, which dissolves in carbon disulfide and ethanol but insoluble in water, and can burn vigorously in oxygen to produce huge amount of heat. Sulfur has unusual optical and electrical properties and is a good electrical insulator. High purity sulfur can be obtained to more than 99.999% and 99.9999% purity in various form of powder, lump, granule, flake and tablet etc by rectification and special purification techniques. High Purity Sulfur 5N 6N at Western Minmetals (SC) Corporation with purity of 99.999% and 99.9999% can be offered in size of powder, granule, lump, tablet and pill which is packed in vacuumed composite aluminum bag, or polyethylene bottle with carton box outside, or as customized specification to the perfect solution.

Applications

High Purity Sulfur is principally used in the preparation of of II-VI group compound semiconductors cadmium sulfide CdS, arsenic sulfide As₂S₃, gallium sulfide Ga₂S₃, titanium sulfide TiS₂, selenium sulfide SeS₂ base material and as well as multi-element sulfide composite electrode material, and also largely for photoelectric devices, glass semiconductor elements, CIS copper indium sulfur thin film solar cell and as standard sample analysis calibration specimens.
