Description

High Purity Germanium 5N 6N, known as Zone-Refined Germanium 99.999% 99.9999%, is a hard and brittle, silvery-white lustrous semiconductor material with atomic weight 72.59, melting point 937.4°C , density 5.33g/cm³ and resistivity of over 47ohm-cm (23+/-0.5°C), which is insoluble in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and alkali, but soluble in HF, aqua regia and hot NaOH solution, and dissolves more faster with the action of H₂O₂. Zone-Refined Germanium is a typical semiconductor with n-type and p-type conductivity characteristics, which is prepared by the zone melting purification process from reduced germanium ingot.
